Is There a Market For a Saltcod Burger?

Alda Sigmundsdóttir recently wrote some potent pieces in The Gaurdian as well as on her blog The Iceland Weather Report about the closing of the only McDonald's in Iceland. Iceland was pretty slow to embrace that bastion of American capitalism in the first place, not opening a franchise until 1993, I think. It was nice to see Alda and other Icelanders assure everyone that they would not shed a tear for the departure of the golden arches.

I'm not a big reader of magazines aside from news mags. However, I find myself always going back to Androgyny Magazine. A fashion magazine that is only online as far as I know. I have to think it's because the photographs can be so great. I especially like the "Stig of the Wood" feature from the current issue.
